The Chair of our society, Doctor of Health Sciences Outi Ahonen, has been elected as a member of the Board of the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth (ISfTeH) for the term 2026–2028.
ISfTeH is the umbrella organization of telemedicine societies worldwide, with the mission of integrating digital health policies, practices, and solutions into mainstream health systems globally. The organization advances this mission by disseminating digital health knowledge and experience internationally, providing access to recognized experts in the field, and strengthening cooperation among stakeholders.
Ahonen’s appointment represents an important channel of influence for Finland. ISfTeH works closely with, among others, the World Health Organization (WHO) and develops education on the digitalization of healthcare on a global scale. Finland is the second oldest member of ISfTeH in the category of national societies
