Tietojärjestelmän käyttöönottoa tukevat teoreettiset mallit terveydenhuollossa en

Abstract

Tietojärjestelmien käyttöönottoprosessien onnistumisen edistämiseksi on laadittu erilaisia teoreettisia malleja, joita hyödyntämällä voidaan ennaltaehkäistä käyttöönottoon liittyvien haasteiden ilmenemistä ja toteuttaa käyttöönottoprosessin aikaisia tukitoimia yksilöiden hyväksynnän (accept) edistämiseksi. Mallit voidaan jakaa kahteen eri kategoriaan: yksilöiden hyväksyntäpäätöstä ennakoiviin ja selittäviin, käyttäytymistieteistä johdettuihin malleihin kuten technology acceptance model (TAM) sekä organisaatiotason käyttöönottoa, erityisesti työnkulun ja teknologian yhteensopivuutta tukeviin malleihin kuten Task-Technology Fit (TTF). Varhaisimmista teoreettisista malleista on myös tehty uusia malleja yhdistelemällä niiden vahvuuksia. Esimerkiksi Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) ja Fit between Individuals, Task and Technology (FITT) ovat yhdistelmiä useasta varhaisemmasta mallista. AbstractThe prime minister of Finland Juha Sipinen’s government has an objective to revise electronic social and health care records (EHR). The purpose is to improve the quality of care and patient and customer safety. Currently there are large scale multi municipal EHR projects underway in Finland. Previous studies has pointed out that in many cases the users reject the EHR due to the unfit between the technology (EHR) and workflow of the organization. Therefore it is important to assess the workflows of the organization when EHR specifications are being made. The personnel (users) should participate in workflow specification. Personnel can provide important information to the implementation process. Different kinds of theories have been developed to enhance the EHR implementation. These theories have two kinds of foundations: 1. focus on individuals’ reasons and motives to make acceptance decision and 2. focus on the organizational factors like workflows and their fit with the technology. Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Fit between Individuals, Task and Technology (FITT) were developed by combining the strengths from earlier theories. These combinations offer guidelines and advices how to prevent and how to deal with occurring problems of EHR implementation.
