Journal of the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth - call for assistant editors
The Journal of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (JISfTeH) is an open access peer reviewed journal, started in 2013.
The JISfTeH seeks three to four people to take on the roles of Assistant Editors of the journal. As one of the few open access journals that does not charge article processing fees or page charges this would be on a voluntary basis.
Assistant editors will be mentored in the day to day running of the journal using the open-source publishing platform Open Journal Systems. They will be assigned different roles, on a rotational basis, covering the various phases of paper publication from receipt of a paper, editorial review, peer review, publication decision, copy editing, layout, proofreading and electronic publication. The workload would be variable but initially not more than about one to two hours per week.
Applicants should have experience of the publication of their own work in peer-reviewed scientific journals, a sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, a willingness to learn the Open Journal Systems platform, a working command of English and be able to work as part of a distributed team. It is envisaged that the future editors of JISfTeH would come from this group.
All applicants will be interviewed and the call remains open until the posts are filled.
